A detailed fact sheet is attached, which also has a waiver. Send this with your child or accompany them to registration and sign it there. First run starts at 9:30 am. There will be a re-set and second inspection for run two.
Magic U12 GS Details:
Register by Saturday 3/9 at 5 pm here https://adminskiracing.com/node/215683
Other than knowing that bib/ticket pick-up is in the basement of the base lodge I have no other info on the day of this race since there is no fact sheet posted on VARA. Things are loose but FUN at Magic :)! Let's plan on coaches meeting athletes at 8:10 am in front of the base lodge. Be aware the lift takes a LONG time to get to the top. First run will probably start at 9:30 am. It might be dual GS...definitely GS though :)!
U10 Festival Killington Details:
Register by Saturday 3/9 at noon here https://adminskiracing.com/node/226731
On Saturday registration will begin at 7:30 AM and end at 8:30 am. Registration will be in the Killington Ski Club Building which is just up the hill to the right from the K1 Lodge, which is the lodge that is at the very end of the access road by the K1 gondola. When you are looking at the ski club, instead of going in the front door, walk around to the right in the back of the building and head up the stairs and in the back door. Then go down stairs to the Johnny O Multi-Purpose room. Bibs and lift tickets will be handed out at registration - remind your athlete to put the bib on right away and not to remove it. Killington requests (and so do I) that you have your athlete go to the registration table on their own - it's a great way to get our athletes more involved in the process of race day! I recommend getting there early! Killington is a busier place than everywhere else we go! Note that you MUST keep your stuff in the K1 Lodge - not in the Ski Club.
The coaches will meet the athletes at 8:30 AM outside of the ski club building. The athletes will be split into mixed mountain groups for the morning and assigned a coach (might not be from Okemo). The groups will freeski Killington with the challenge of riding as many lifts as possible and getting photos at the bottom of each. This is an awesome opportunity to ski a new BIG mountain. This will end at about 11:30 am. At 12 pm coaches will meet athletes outside of the lodge to go for inspection of the dual GS course. Dual GS will start at 1 pm on Highline. BOYS WILL RUN FIRST AT THIS RACE. Odds will start on the red course, Evens on the blue. Second run will be in the same bib order and start right after the end of the first run with each athlete on the opposite course.
Highline is visible on foot and ends right at the Killington Ski Club building. However, parent tickets are available for $65 CASH or CHECK (payable to KMS) only and only at registration - not at a ticket window or guest services. Limit 2 per athlete.
Driving Directions to Killington:
From Ludlow, take a right onto Rt 100 North at the new traffic light. Follow this until it intersects with Rt. 4 (watch out for cops in Plymouth when the speed limit drops!). Take a left onto Rt. 4. Go past the gondola on the side of the road and keep going until you go up a big hill. The access road will be on your left. Turn left onto access road and follow it all the way to the top to the K1 Lodge. It takes about 35-40 minutes to get there.
That's all for now! Look for info to come on U12 Piches/Meisterschaft/VT-NY SL Project.
