Info for Okemo U14 States Athletes

Hello Okemo U14 Families,

Congratulations to all 22 of our athletes that have qualified for Vermont State Championships! Here is some important info I received at the team captains meeting. I have also Included the race announcement.

-Registration/bib pick up will be at 7:30 in the west wing of the base lodge.

-Parents can buy a hikers ticket for 10$, which will give you a ride up the American Express lift, no downloading. All up/downhill hill traffic will be on the trail Yodeler about a 15 to 30 minute hike depending on your desired pace.

-Athletes can load lifts for the SG (tomorrow) at 8:45. The rest of the weekend will be a 8:30 lift load. Coaches will meet athletes at the Start.

-Athletes and coaches will be given a credential to cut the lift line in a race specific lane. This is not the same as the ski school line, stay out of that lane.

-No skiing on SG skis outside of the race venue. Fast GS is to be done on the trail Standard, skiers left of Franks Fall line (race trail).

-No one is allowed inside the race venue unless they are an athlete or coach. There will be designated viewing areas for parents.

-Athletes must have an FIS sticker on their helmets to race SG and GS.

-Bags and skis that are not at the start of the race course need to be left at the pole barn, skiers left of the mid-mountain lodge.

-Bib numbers 1-15 will be returned at the end of the day in the finish area each day. These bibs will be shuffled for the next day of racing (pick up at registration). Bibs 16 on will be the same each day and only need to be returned at the completion of the race on Sunday.

-Awards will be given for the SG and GS on Saturday. Sunday SL awards will be given and the naming of the Eastern Team and VT/NY project will happen.

-Athletes will be ranked on their single best results (1st run, 2nd run, combine) a possible 7 runs between the SG, GS, and SL races. Ties will be broken by athletes next best finish.

-29 Boys and 28 Girls will make Eastern's, the next 15 Boys and 15 Girls will make the VT/NY Project.

Let me know if you have any question, have a good night!
