Hopefuls announcement 3/16-3/17

Hopefuls weekend 3/16-3/17 and beyond

Hope you are having a great week. We are closing in on the last couple weekends of training. This Saturday, 3/16, is our last race. We’ll be racing on Wardance. As usual the kids will meet coaches at the Sugar House at 9 am, we’ll inspect and the race will start at 10 am. The race will be a dual and the kids are free to go to lunch after their second run. This is always a big deal for the Hopeful kids, we’ve had the opportunity to so some training on Wardance and it is a great experience for them to race the hill at the end of the season.

We will have afternoon training from noon until 2. This Saturday awards will take place at Murdock’s On the Green in Proctorsville. Murdock’s is owned by our very own Hopeful coach, ET, and OMARA has graciously sponsored a party for us. The party will be from 3:30 - 5 pm and we will do awards and results there during that time. OMARA will provide snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, there will be a cash bar for parents.

Sunday, 3/17, is regular training for the kids signed up for the Sunday program.

Looking forward to our last weekend, on Sat 3/23, we’ll have regular training with our groups. On Sunday, 3/24, there is a demo day where kids can try out next years race skis, a parent/kid race and the OMARA awards/BBQ. These events will take place on Wardance. The demo day will be set up by 8:30. I encourage you to have your kids try out the new race equipment for next year. In the fall at the Fit Day you will be able to place pre-season orders which allow some nice discounts on the equipment. The parent/kid races are non-timed and the course will be open for all to enjoy. BBQ and OMARA awards will commence at approx noon. The Hopefuls will have received end of season awards at Murdocks the previous weekend so we do not participate in the OMARA awards ceremony. Nonetheless, the BBQ and parent/kid races are a blast so I encourage all to attend.

It has been our pleasure to ski with your children this winter, thank you all.
