OMST 1.12_1.13 and USASA BX @ Stratton

OMST parents and athletes,

This weekend marks the start of our USASA competition season and there will be back-to-back boardercross races at Stratton on Saturday and Sunday. If your child plans to compete and you have yet to pre-register your child online, please do so asap.  To register, please visit our USASA Southern Vermont Series page. You will need to register for each event separately. Competitor lift tickets are $25 and will need to be purchased at registration.

Athletes should plan on meeting coaches Betsy and Garrison in the west wing of the Stratton base lodge at 7:45am on both days. Stratton is about a 40 minute drive from Okemo and give yourself another 5-10 minutes for parking. Also, please make sure that your child's board receives an edge sharpen and weather appropriate hot wax prior to the events. The Totem Pole in Ludlow offers excellent tuning services.

Friday BX training with OMS is also an option for our weekend athletes. This is a great opportunity for your child to receive some extra training prior to the event. If the course is open (I will know on Thurs) training will be at Stratton- if the course is not open, training will be at Okemo. I will let you know the training plan on Thursday evening. Friday training tickets at Stratton are generally around $40 and your child will need their USASA membership card (or printout of card) to receive this discount. Single day training fee is $75 and please see Maggie at the Competition Center over the weekend to catchup on payment.

For OMST athletes who will not be competing in BX this weekend, training will be as usual at Okemo from 8am-1:30pm. A heavy dose of park and pipe training will be our focus for the weekend as the newly rebuilt Crazy Train and Lower Tomahawk parks will be open and ready to shred!
