Okemo U14 Weekend Training/Race plan 1/12 & 1/13, Speed Camp 1/18-1/21
Hello Okemo U14 Families,
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. The snow has been great, and we have been picking up some fresh stuff over the last couple days! Here is the plan for the weekend and for the OMARA Speed Camp.
Saturday 1/12: Meet at the yurt at 8:15, GS gates and drills 8:15-12:30. The expected high is 14 degrees. Athletes should dress warmly in layers. We will be taking breaks throughout the morning to review video and warm-up. Athletes should plan on bringing a snack and water to the yurt in the morning as our session is going through our normal lunch time. Athletes will be taking breaks in small group and are encouraged to stay out until it is time for their break. Those that spend too much time in the yurt could potential miss out on their video review opportunity. Here are two drills we will be doing two runs of each, a total of 4 runs. Then a break in the yurt to break out into smaller video review groups.

Sunday 1/13: MVC GS Race at Okemo. Make sure to sign up if you haven't already done so (https://adminskiracing.com/node/187961). I will send out more details about the race and timeline in the next couple of days.
Speed Camp: 1/18-1/21:
OMARA has sponsored a 4 day speed camp that is open to all U12-U19 Okemo athletes (see attached Schedule). This camp will feature guest coaches Marco Sullivan and his wife Anne (Goodman) Sullivan both who raced on the World Cup and competed at the highest level of the sport. All athletes must be on GS or SG skis for this camp, no Slalom Skis. Those that have SG ski's will need to bring a pair of GS skis to ski on when outside of our fenced War Dance training venue. Friday the U14 session will run 9-11:30, with no PM session unless you are a Friday skier enrolled in the 3 day Competition Center Program. Friday skiers, let me know if you plan to be here.
Please let me know if you have any questions, enjoy the rest of the week!
