Okemo Mountain Snowboard Team, 11.28.18 Update

Update 11/27/18

OMST Parents and Athletes,

I hope everyone is excited for OMST's opening weekend as it is going to be one of the best to date! Okemo has received nearly 20" of fresh snow in the latest storm and light now is forecasted to continue into tonight.

We will be training on Saturday and Sunday and from 8am-1:30pm (see detailed schedule below). All athletes must have all required paperwork, registration fees, and OMARA membership dues completed and paid for in order to train this weekend. Athletes must also have their Okemo pass which can be picked up at the front desk in the Main Lodge, if not done so already. *Helmets are required and athletes will not be able to train without one.

*Groms Team athletes will not start training until the following weekend, December 8th & 9th.

Opening weekend is always the time to work out the kinks and our coaching staff will be making sure that the athletes understand proper trail and park etiquette as well as easing into the early season from a progression standpoint. Kids grow like weeds, so we will be paying close attention over the next couple of weeks to snowboard gear- most importantly boots, bindings, boards. We will offer suggestions to parents on any appropriate gear that should be purchased for their child for the season.
