Explore the Opportunities at Okemo Mountain School in 2019-2020

Dear Okemo Competition Center Families,

It is hard to believe it is February and that we are in the heart of the competition season. Though it may seem a long way off now, it is already time to start planning for next winter!

Many of you are already familiar with Okemo Mountain School, but for those of you who are not, it is an amazing opportunity for accessing more training time and a specialized academic program for your student-athlete. Okemo Mountain School is an independent school approved by the Vermont State Board of Education. We are dedicated to delivering a rigorous academic curriculum while providing intense on-snow training that would not be possible in a traditional school setting. We offer various enrollment options during the winter months. We generally accept students beginning in the seventh grade, but will consider fifth and sixth graders who demonstrate the skills and maturity to handle the rigors of our program. We offer programs in alpine ski racing, freestyle/freeride skiing, and snowboarding.  Our student-athletes have followed impressive paths post-graduation - we look forward to working with your student-athlete next!

Please explore our website for a more in-depth look at life at OMS.  You can access our New Student Information Packet download, as well as a link to our online application form, on our website at https://www.okemomountainschool.org/how-to-apply/. Our priority admissions deadline is April 1

Feel free to contact me by phone or email with any questions or to discuss options for your student-athlete for next winter. Kate Foster, our Middle School Dean of Academics and Admissions Coordinator, is also available at kfoster@okemomountainschool.org or 802-228-1112.  Final tuition rates for 2019-2020 will be set by late March - please contact us then to obtain a copy of the tuition rate document, or look for it on our website.

We also invite any interested student-athlete to join us for a day to shadow a current OMS student-athlete through training and academic classes. Please contact your athlete's head coach or Kate to schedule a day between now and March 29th!

Best wishes to your athletes for a successful rest of the season,

Mariel
